Programs

JCCD works with landowners, farmers, government agencies and non-governmental organizations in many different ways.  Here’s a brief rundown on the programs we’re involved with, and a link read more about each of them.

Landowner Cost-share programs – Matching funds to help landowners with conservation projects of many different types.  Andrew Gust of the NRCS works closely with us in this area.

Hunter Access Program (HAP) – partnering with private landowners to provide hunting opportunities for the public

Upper Grand River Implementation Project (UGRIP) – The UGRIP was designed to reduce erosion and sedimentation in targeted sub-basins of the Upper Grand River Watershed.

Michigan Water Stewardship Program/MAEAP – promoting the adoption of farm management practices that protect our groundwater resources.

Michigan Conservation and Climate initiative – farmers and landowners in Michigan can earn greenhouse gas emissions credits.  Learn more here.
