Found in dry areas growing in clumps 2-3' tall, taller in ideal conditions. Leaf blades 4-8" long, 1/4" wide. The blue-green foliage provides a great backdrop for prairie flowers in summer and then turns a striking crimson in fall. It excels in dry sandy soils.
